About Us

Swing for the Stars was created by Jodie Heath, MS OTR/L after recognizing a need for exceptional occupational therapy services in the Concord area of New Hampshire. Officially opening its doors for business in September of 2007, Swing for the Stars is a state-of-the art therapy center offering individualized therapeutic services to children with special needs. Services offered at Swing for the Stars utilize treatment principles such as sensory integration theory, The Alert Program, Therapeutic Listening, music and movement, Handwriting Without Tears, and Brain Gym.

Our Staff
Jodie Heath, MS OTR/L

Jodie is the owner and executive director of Swing for the Stars Pediatric Therapy Center. Jodie received her Undergraduate and Masters Degrees from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. She has worked in other clinic settings as well as a school for children with emotional and mental disabilities, a school for young children with autism spectrum disorders, and early intervention. Jodie is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test and has completed continuing education in sensory integration theory, Therapeutic Listening, The Alert Program, treating children with autism spectrum disorders, development and implementation of music and movement groups, screening and intervention procedures for children with eye movement disorders, and feeding/eating treatment strategies.

Jamie Jones, MS OTR/L

Jamie is a staff occupational therapist at Swing for the Stars Pediatric Therapy Center. Jamie received her Undergraduate degree at Keene State College and Masters Degrees from the University of New Hampshire. She has worked in other clinical settings and had extensive experience with children of all ages. Jamie has completed continuing education in sensory integration theory, treating children with autism spectrum disorders, oral motor treatment strategies, attention deficit disorder, pediatric bipolar disorder, and visual development. Jamie is also experienced in implementing the Alert Program and Handwriting Without Tears.

Laurie Lapointe

Laurie is a staff occupational therapist at Swing for the Stars Pediatric Therapy Center. Laurie received her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from the Univesity of New Hampshire. She has worked in other clinical settings including public schools, a private school, and early intervention. She has extensive experience with children of all ages. Laurie is certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests and has completed continuing education in sensory integration theory, treating vestibular based disorders, treating children with autism spectrum disorders, oral motor treatment strategies, and Handwriting Without Tears. Laurie is also experienced in implementing the Alert Program.

Sarah St. Laurant, OTR/L

Sarah joined Swing for the Stars Staff in November of 2007 as a per-diem staff member. She received her undergraduate BS degree in May of 2002 and is currently working towards her masters degree in Public Health Administration at the University of New Hampshire. Sarah began her clinical work experience in a sensory integration clinic, which provided her with valuable tools and techniques in the area of SI. Sarah currently works full-time providing school-based occupational therapy services. In addition to working with children, Sarah works at an inpatient rehabilitation center that specializes in orthopedics and nuero diagnoses. Sarah is most interested in treating ocular motor and visual perceptual deficits.

Tabitha Ahern

Tabitha joined Swing for the Stars staff in November of 2007 as the administrative assistant. Tabitha received her Associates Degree in Accounting from New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord New Hampshire in May of 2006. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire with an anticipated graduation date of May, 2008. In addition to Tabitha’s work at Swing for the Stars Pediatric Therapy Center she is also an active volunteer for the March of Dimes.


Our Facility
Swing for the Stars is located at 2 Pillsbury Street in Concord, New Hampshire. The treatment spaces were designed to help maximize therapeutic potential and include 2 large and 3 smaller treatment rooms. The large treatment rooms are outfitted with suspension systems and other gross motor equipment, while the smaller treatment rooms offer spaces for handwriting, fine motor activities and oral motor treatment programs to be carried out.
